Competition among Smart Cellphones

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Lately there have been a lot of discussions throughout the media about which the best touch screen phone on the market is, and which the best operating system for a cellphone is. There is a very big and tough competition for that and leading in the race are Android and I mac. Android, the leading operating system found in cellphones and even some net books and readers have been adopted by many companies and are being used. However the imac and Mac software is switched just and just to Apple company products like the iphone, ipad, ipod and the various product lines coming from the apple company.

The Mac software has created a huge buzz on the market field today due to the eye catching simplicity of the applications it provides combined with the beautiful user interface it provides on its devices. With 5 versions of Apple iphone coming on the market, Apple already has a competitor – the cellphone giant nokia in the race for the world’s best smart phones available on today’s market. However the iphone 4s has competitors now and that’s from the various devices which run on the android platform.

Nokia also doesn’t stay far behind now in the race. To compete with the iphone 4s, nokia plans to launch Nokia’s first WP7 phone. There has been a lot of news on the internet related to this. The news relates how it will compete with the cellphone giant iphone 4s. The phone that is the new nokia wp7 entering the competition to compete with the iphone 4s is believed to have been named as “Sea Ray”. According to the news there are images which define the cellphone as a candy bar phone pretty much same as the iphone 4s. In comparison with the new Smartphones being launched in the current year, this phone has a little odd look. The phone has a flat bottom like its previous old model of nokia n9 and has curvy sides on the corners. The thing that offsets this is the matte color finished look it posses.

When all the cellphone companies are upgrading their products looks in order to impress and rather confuse the customers from choosing the cellphone designwise, Nokia comes across as a losing opponent. New cellphones from companies like Motorola, apple, Samsung have greatly improved their building tactics and look to fit with the audiences’ choice in the market. However nokia still chooses to bring cellphones in the hard plastic range and not upgrading them to the metal finish or even the rubberized back which the blackberry offers even with a low price as compared to the bulky costly nokia handsets.

However it can be concluded from the given explanation that no wonder nokia launches a new cellphone in the coming months to compete with the enormously feature packed iphone 4s, but there’s a 50-50 chance it would be able to compete with the iphone 4s due to the looks and of course due to the features.

In simple words the company has developed software that performs the function of a number of different types which would otherwise require a separate machine, separate space and a separate employee to operate it.

Avaya furnishes amazingly easy to use interfaces that provide solutions for day to day office work. Let us examine two of the numerous solutions Avaya provides: (1) Unified Communications and (2) Networking:

(1) Unified Communications

The name unified communication simply means the one circuit containing all the functions for messaging, calling and video conferencing. For example under the unified communication there is this software named Avaya one-X Communicator. This is a software which is capable of storing large number of contact details. There is phone connection button to receive or dial calls. There is an answering machine connection that replies to the call. There is a link for video conferencing. The software has links to numerous other small office tasks that could be performed on this single screen. That is why it is called ‘unified communications’. It says anywhere and anytime which means it can be installed on a laptop and is compatible with cell phones.

Video conferencing – This too is a single source of storing and sharing videos with a number of desktops in the same organization. It can be used to share data during video conference calls.

Desk phones – This again is a multi function device that can not only be used for calling but also for displaying the caller’s number, recording voice calls, transfer calls to other phones, it has a modem connection socket and it has memory to store text data.

(2) Networking

Branch router – It provides access of the single server to all the branches of the company in one building. An integrated server keeps running on the basis of battery back up and third part IP connection despite an outage in primary IP connection and allows data exchange and calling to all ports that are connected to this server

How a simple cellphone got into a race of being a Complex Smart phone

Monday, October 24th, 2011

With new companies launching their hi tech quality smart phones, there is a company which is veryt famous among the cellphone craze market and that’s apple. With a range of around 5 different versions of the Apple Iphone, it by far outstands as one of the most preferred cellphone companies in the world market today. It even poses a significant threat to other mobile giants like the all time favorite Nokia, Sony Erricson, and Motorola to name a few. The reason is as the world is emerging and becoming synchronized with the internet world, we all want a small device that can handle everything. This device can be none other than a cellphone. It handles calls, manages your email, has an internet browser and loads all stuff integrated into this small pocket size device. With a smart phone you have all this in your pocket.

Race for Influencing Customer’s

Every cellphone company is struggling in the race to win the potential customers’ attention and influencing them in order to turn them into a paying customer for their company i.e. influencing you that their product outstands among the other products in the market which remarkably has more or the less same features in it.

Among all the major cellphone giants, Apple is one of the most famous one to make really great cellphones. It was the first among the cellphone companies to come out with a phone in the market which had no hard button keys on it but just a full touch screen and a small soft button below it. This is how the race for touch screen phones started. And Apple even today with its best high quality touch screen and imac feature on it stands first in the race even outstanding the nokia company in it. On Tuesday of this month Apple unveiled the fifth version of the iphone series at its headquarters with a whole lot of features packed into the candy bar phone device making it one step ahead of the other phones in the market.

The mobile operators in the world such as the most famous one At&T, Verizon and Vodafone have already started research and testing centers to integrate and operate with the Iphone.

Difference between phones:

In today’s time when it comes to choosing a cellphone it’s not related to just the design or specs of the phone it’s also related to the size, the operating system and connectivity features. As the World is emerging with such a high speed the demand for more and more quality applications grow. For example the apple store has more application than the android market and android market has more apps compared to the nokias symbian platform. So when buying a phone a user has to keep all this in mind and select a phone according to his choice.

The BlackBerry Crush – the great BB outage

Friday, October 21st, 2011

RIM’s Berries got crushed spreading its color all around the world. The color remained strong for three days and began to fade gradually. People were not too happy to get colored in black. The black out struck about 6 am ET on Monday the 10th of October 2011. First many of the service users thought that there was some problem with handsets. As the news broke about the mass disruption, people started pointing fingers at the company Research In Motion, RIM. For four consecutive days almost all the BlackBerry users the world over, barring those from Canada and the U S, could not use their GPS applications including e-mailing. The first official statement from RIM in connection with the temporary suspension of services could come only on the second day because RIM’s co-CEO Jim Balsillie and other executives were in Dubai for the annual GITEX electronics show when the outage occurred.

The early news breaker was Vodafone Egypt’s Khaled Hegazy, “there is a problem with the servers in Canada which is affecting service”. Initially RIM did not give an explanation for the fault. Signal bars on the handset showed only one bar indicating very dim service with which some users could manage sending and receiving messages that took too long than usual. RIM conveyed through email to the Canadian press early on Tuesday that the services would be restored as soon as possible, but hours later again flashed a message submitting that the problem still persisted.

Completely affected subscribers were mostly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, India, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. For the first day people did not mind the interruption thinking that there must be technical problem at the service provider’s end. By the middle of second day people started to lose temper, not because of the blockage but because there was no word of information from the company about the problem, leave alone an apology. Those who had access and time began spitting their anguish through all the means and ways. Most reactions were passed through twitter. All they wanted to know was why the company was taking so long to resolve the problem.

It was on late Tuesday evening that RIM first came out with an apology and revealed the reason for the suspension of services. It was the first time the company offered an explanation of the outage since problems first occurred Monday morning.

RIM apologized for “any inconvenience,” only after the anger of the users reached the boiling point when expressions of condemnations got more and more acute and straight forward.

Research in Motion Ltd., RIM said the disruptions were the result of breakdown of infrastructure. A back-up switch did not synchronize the data causing a huge piling up of data. We are now working to clear that backlog and restore normal service as quickly as possible,” the company messaged in brief.

The company began transmitting message at short intervals with the view to throw mud over people’s angry fire. Our engineers are turning every stone to find the cause of the problem and as soon as the problem is tracked down we shall restore the services. “We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience, and we will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.”

The black color of the berries was washed on Thursday 13th October – 10:00 (GMT-5).

Via a Conference call the RIM Co-CEOs confirmed that the BlackBerry services were restored. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.” Patrick Spence, RIM’s head of global sales and regional marketing “We know we’ll have to work to build back that credibility.”

iPhone 4S – pleasing numerous users with ever increasing popularity

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The iPhone 4S is Apple’s leading smartphone with highly advanced features. A typical smartphone with a high-resolution touch screen display, WiFi connectivity, Web browsing capabilities, and the ability to accept sophisticated applications. 4S runs on any of the popular mobile operating systems such as Android, an operating system for smartphones, tablet and computers. Android has been designated as the most selling smartphone platform globally in 2010.

The controls in iOS Apple’s mobile operating system consist of sliders, switches, and buttons. As of October 4, 2011, Apple, Inc.’s App Store contains more than 500,000 iOS applications. 4S iPhone also works on BlackBerry. Windows Mobile, this operating system does not allow upgrading, even by a later release of the same basic operating system; hardware change is the only way for less popular and older devices.

The iPhone 4S has a faster processor, longer-lasting battery and better camera. A new feature on the iPhone 4S is the Siri Assistant voice interface. Siri enables automatic conversion of voice into data in iOS 5′s Reminders application. Siri supports English, German, and French voice input, but there are more language add-ons to come. It is considered to be the star attraction of the latest release. The 4S also comes in a 64 GB version – that is a lot of space to accommodate documents, images, videos games and many more applications. Dual-core A5 CPU contains an interpretation of a chip, based upon the dual-core CPU with NEON SIMD accelerator and a dual core which will make 3D games players go crazy.

Dual-core graphics feature a high-resolution Retina display. The high-resolution screen and faster GPU would allow playing 1080p HD video Download speeds of 14.4Mbps. 8 megapixel camera is seen as killer for the new comer digital cameras. When camera with 8 mp element is available in phones, who would go for a separate camera spending 150 dollars additionally?

The October 14th release of the 4S iPhone, seemingly the biggest release so far in the category of smartphones has pleased many of its users. The popularity is ever increasing. People are willing to buy a 4S iPhone even at $399 because of its features that are by far the latest and most advanced. It is the software updates that are driving the popularity of the iPhone 4S. The 4S has dual antennas for world-wide roaming. Much awaited is the 5S iPhone which only Apple can tell when it is going to be released. We hope Apple comes out soon with the latest version and continues living up to the expectations of its loyal customers.

For now just try this:-

“4S! It is our wedding anniversary on Sunday, if you fail to remind me, I will throw you out of the house first, before my wife throws me out”.

Siri will sure remind you.
